Join us Friday, October 28, for the Last Friday Lunch at the Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar St., in Berkeley. We’ll get a chance to meet three folks – Jenna Gaarde, Ariel Cohen, and Xavier Morales -- from the Oakland chapter of the (recently Mackenzie Scott-funded) Praxis Project, a nonprofit with a different approach to helping communities achieve health equity and justice. Think of them as community consultants, helping to drive local initiatives with research, policy, media and financial resources. Come find out more about some of their local projects.
Everyone is welcome to join us and share experiences of your community action, whether it’s setting up a food collection drive or organizing a protest march. Lunch is $5 for vegetarian or pescatarian pizza from North Star Pizza, and you’re always welcome to bring your own. Please RSVP to whoisylvia@aol.com so I can get enough pizza.
