Lecture and Potluck Lunch
You and your friends are invited April 26, from noon to 1:30 p.m. to hear a remarkable person, Roxanne Makasdjian, executive director of The Genocide Education Project, speak about her connection to the Armenian Genocide, its current denial by the Turkish government, and the nonprofit she heads to ensure that both the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide are taught in high schools and middle schools through the U.S. Roxanne, a former journalist and TV news producer, helps create the lesson plans, communications, and planning of teacher training workshops for this project, and for a day job she's serves as manager of Broadcast Communications at UC Berkeley.
Lunch is potluck, so bring something tasty to share for the serving table at the Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar St., in Berkeley.
